Details: Classification: Interim/ProjectCompensation: $65000 to $95000 per yearGovernment Accountant - Manufacturer in Valencia is an industry leader in motion control systems and components for commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, missiles, spacecraft, marine craft and ground vehicles since 1933. MUST Have CAS, FAR and face-to-face DCAA experience and Incurred Cost (ICE) and Forward Pricing (FPRP and FPRA) experience. Essential Functions:Inventory control and analysis. Prepare timely, accurate, monthly inventory reconciliations. Recommend improvements to inventory control as necessary. Analyze excess and obsolete inventory, including preparation and support of reserve requirements. Monitor and control cycle counting. Ensure accuracy of product and project costing and accounting. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly project cost reconciliation. Ensure accuracy of Cost of Goods Sold being reported in relation to contractual revenue being recognized, GAAP and Company policy. Ensure accuracy of Raw Material, Work in Process, Finished Goods, and customer Contract inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP and Company policy. Ensure accuracy of product and project costing and accounting. Ensure accuracy of Cost of Goods Sold being reported in relation to contractual revenue being recognized, GAAP and Company policy. Provide timely and accurate cost accounting support required to support the Companys monthly financial close process/calendar. Coordinate preparation of various Company management and financial reports. Provide support as needed to Financial Planning and Analysis. Prepare and coordinate cost accounting and inventory support for audits. Other Functions: Various financial and accounting projects as required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Understanding of the business environment. Strong project management skills, interpersonal skills, and written/oral communication skills. Ability to analyze complex information and present the findings in a simple manner. Sound attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Exhibits a service oriented mentality. Innovative thinking and ability to effectively influence and/or drive appropriate change. Ability to effectively interact with all levels in the organization. Proficiency in large fully integrated accounting systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP) Education or Formal Training: B.S. / B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
